Meet The Team

Amy graduated in physiotherapy at Southampton University in 2011 and since then has gained a Sports Massage ITEC qualification.

She completed her rotations at Woking before becoming a Senior Physiotherapist at Farnham Hospital. On relocating to Basingstoke she became the Team Lead Physiotherapist there for a few years before moving to become more permanent with us and more recently taking on the Lead role here.

She has experience in seeing a wide variety of complex cases referred from GPs and orthopaedic consultants and also completed training in Acupuncture.

She is a keen cricketer playing county standard in her earlier days. As family commitments have taken over, she still continues to play at club level. Badminton also keeps Amy busy in the winter months.

Rome graduated in South Africa with a degree in physiotherapy in 1996. She has worked in the UK for many years as a senior physiotherapist in hospitals and the private sector.

She has undertaken additional post-graduate training in acupuncture and has a certificate in Manual Therapy.

Rome is our Women’s Health Specialist. She can treat problems associated with passing urine including pain, increased frequency, incontinence and incomplete emptying. She can also treat unexplained pain in the back, pelvis or genital area and has completed courses in pre and post natal care.

Carolyn trained at King’s College Hospital in London and has over 25 years experience predominantly in musculoskeletal work with all ages.

Carolyn has post qualification training in Sports Medicine, Maitland mobilisations, Trigger Point Therapy, McKenzie exercise programmes and Swiss Gym Ball exercises.

Carolyn regularly attends courses to keep updated with current clinical evidence based practices.

She has a special interest in persistent pain and is part of the chronic pain team for Surrey Heath.

Helena studied her Physiotherapy degree at South Bank University in London and has previously obtained Sports massage training which she has been practising for over 5 years.

She has recently qualified in APPI Pilates completing mat work level 3 and pilates for endometriosis earlier in 2023. Helena currently oversees our Pilates here at Camberley Physio running several of the classes throughout all the levels. She works as part of our NHS Chronic Pain service applying her skills and knowledge here also.

Helena has a passion for gym and strength training, she is particularly interested in sports injuries and chronic low back pain.

Rhona graduated in 2005 from Northumbria University. She completed her rotations in the North East including working in the chronic pain and rheumatology team, before moving to work in the private sector. Rhona has gained experience over the last 10 years in musculoskeletal outpatients and orthopaedics.

She has undertaken further training in APPI Pilates and she enjoys taking Pilates classes and using it in her practise clinically, helping clients improve their balance, movement and strength.

Claire first qualified as a fitness Instructor level 3 after studying Business and Leisure at Farnborough college of Technology. She then started work with Fitness for industry as an instructor and class teacher. In 2008 she joined The Samson centre for MS working in the gym, teaching Neurological classes and 1 to 1 sessions focusing on the importance of balance, stretch, and mobility. Claire qualified in Sports Therapy Massage Level 3 in 2012 and more recently in Level 4 in 2022 working with Bracknell Rugby Club in between.

She joined Upper Gordon Road practice in 2014 offering soft and deep tissue massage. In addition she performs myofascial release for patients with tightness and pain throughout the myofascial tissues. In 2020 Claire further trained with APPI as a mat work 3 Pilates instructor. She currently teaches several of our Pilate’s classes at the practice each week. Claire is also a member of the Pain Clinic team and uses her skills in sports massage and Pilates to help with the rehabilitation of pain patients.

Charlie qualified from Kings College London in 2010 and has since then worked in both the NHS and private sector.

He has a special interest in spines, shoulders, and sports injuries. Charlie has worked in professional sport with Surrey County Cricket Club, London Broncos Rugby League Club, and with British Olympic Athletes.

Charlie obtained a Diploma in Injection Therapy in 2020 and has gained further training in spinal manipulation, acupuncture, shockwave therapy and Pilates.

John graduated in 2001 from King’s College London and has worked predominantly in musculoskeletal outpatients since then.
He obtained the Diploma of the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine in 2006, the Diploma in Injection Therapy in 2011 and is now qualified as a non-medical prescriber.

John has attended courses in shoulders, trigger point therapy, electrotherapy and acupuncture. He has worked in the award winning Surrey Heath Orthopaedic Treatment and Triage Service and has close links with many orthopaedic consultants in the area.

He has previously worked within the GP surgery as an FCP also. He concentrates most of his time working with the NHS MSK service as an advanced practitioner and is now a private injecting clinician only, after many years as a physiotherapist, at Camberley Physiotherapy.

Prior to qualifying as a physiotherapist, John gained a BSc in Medical Biochemistry and has studied psychology with the Open University. He is a free-lance lecturer in pathology for physiotherapists.

Following Richard’s graduation from Southampton University in 2008 he has practised as a Specialist Podiatrist in various setting for the NHS and in private practice. Richard holds an interest of all areas of Podiatry, however his real passion lays in the musculoskeletal field of Podiatry, in particularly lower limb biomechanics and sports injuries.

Richard is committed to continual professional development and maintenance of the highest level of skills and knowledge, having attended numerous postgraduate conferences and training courses, notably passing the Diabetic Foot Module and intends to pursue an MSc in lower limb biomechanics and musculoskeletal Podiatry.

Nicki shares her job role as Reception Manager with her colleague Vikki and has been at the clinic since 2010.

Their duties include the everyday running of the clinic from general administration to welcoming and aiding the patients within the clinic. They run a comprehensive clinic including Physiotherapy, podiatry, Pilates, in house NHS orthopaedic clinics and an external dermatology clinic.

Faisal qualified in 2006 and completed the Foundation training and Core Surgical Training rotation with an Orthopaedic theme. He then qualified as a GP in 2014 from the East Midland training scheme and worked in various GP roles, including partnership, locums, salaried, PCN and federation roles.

General Practitioner with Special Interest in Musculoskeletal and Chronic Pain Medicine

Dr Karen Lothe qualified in Sports and Exercise Medicine over 20 years ago and has since developed extensive experience in the management of musculoskeletal and chronic pain conditions within both primary and community settings.

Initially integrating her sports and exercise medicine training into general practice, Dr Lothe developed a particular interest in musculoskeletal disorders, joint and spinal pain, and overuse injuries. Approximately eight years ago, she led a successful tender to establish a community-based Chronic Pain and MSK service for Surrey Heath, where she continues to provide specialist clinical input.

Dr Lothe has over 20 years’ experience in peripheral joint and soft-tissue injections, and more than a decade’s experience managing spinal pain using targeted cortisone injections. These interventions are aimed at reducing pain and inflammation to facilitate active rehabilitation in collaboration with physiotherapy colleagues.

Sue has been with Camberley Physiotherapy Clinic since 2025 and shares her job role with Nicki , working as our receptionist. In this role she manages the reception desk with assisting clients with there appointments and everyday queries.

Sue has had reception and administration roles within other medical environments over many years. She is always happy to help.

Outside of work, Sue enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, walking her dog and is a great member of the team
